What is the difference between the mats you offer?

Size and Weight:

  • Large Full-Body Mat: Weighs 10kg and provides extensive coverage, ideal for targeting the entire body.
  • Small Portable Mat: Weighs 5kg, making it a lightweight option for those who plan to move their mat frequently or travel with it. The smaller size means less coverage compared to the full-body mat.
  • ACU-PEMF Mat Set: Weighs 3.5kg. This set comes with a portable size Infrared PEMF mat (without crystals), an acupressure mat and an acupressure pillow. The acupressure mat has bands to secure onto the Infrared PEMF mat and they can also be used separately.

Features:

  • All mats come equipped with several PEMF programs and offer infrared heat ranging from 30-70 degrees Celsius.
  • The Deluxe range mats include red light therapy in addition to PEMF and far-infrared therapy. Red light therapy is not in the original range of mats.
  • The ACU-PEMF mat set includes an Infrared PEMF mat (without crystals) and an acupressure mat and pillow.

Crystals:

  • Most of our mats, with the exception of the ACU-PEMF Mat Set, contain natural crystals. The crystals used in our mats include black tourmaline, clear quartz, turquoise and amethyst. Each mat contains two types. Please read the product descriptions to see which crystals are in each mat.

Choosing the right mat depends on your specific needs, whether it's the portability of the smaller mat, the extensive coverage of the full-body mat, or the additional red light feature in the Deluxe range.

One common question we receive is whether the black or beige mat is easier to keep clean. Beige tends to hide dust and animal hair better, making it a great option for those who prefer a low-maintenance look. Black, on the other hand, may show dust and hair more visibly (similar to a black car!). However, both colours are easy to maintain with a quick wipe using a slightly damp cloth.

Do all PEMF devices work the same way, and how does BEST CELLF achieve quality and affordability?

All properly manufactured PEMF devices operate on the same fundamental scientific principles, producing therapeutic pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) through a combination of key components:

Coil: A conductive material, typically copper, wound into a coil. This can be a regular wound coil or a ferrite wound copper coil. Both types are effective in generating the magnetic fields required for PEMF therapy, with the ferrite core offering additional stability and efficiency in some designs.

Magnet: Stabilises and amplifies the magnetic field produced by the coil.

Electrical Current Source: Provides the energy required to generate electromagnetic fields. This current is modulated to produce specific frequencies and intensities.

Modulator (Signal Controller): Regulates the frequency, intensity and waveform of the PEMF, ensuring it stays within therapeutic parameters.

While all PEMF devices share these elements, they can differ in waveform design (e.g., sine, square or sawtooth). BEST CELLF mats use sine waves and bidirectional pulses, which are particularly effective for aligning with the body's natural electromagnetic processes. Sine waves offer smooth, continuous delivery, which aids in cellular repair, improving circulation and reducing inflammation. Sine wave is also the most widely studied waveform. Bidirectional pulses alternate the polarity of the electromagnetic field, preventing the body from becoming acclimatised to the signal, which can help maintain consistent effectiveness over time. Sine waves are proven to be beneficial, as are other waveforms. The highly regarded expert in the field of PEMF, Dr William Pawluk, shares his take on waveforms here.

Although there is some bias and fear-mongering in the industry about specific waveforms or device origins, research shows that frequency and intensity are the most critical factors in determining PEMF efficacy. No study has conclusively proven that any one waveform or device is superior when these parameters are consistent. Many claims and literature in the PEMF industry often reflect inherent bias, as they are frequently authored by individuals or organisations affiliated with specific device brands. It's essential to approach such information with healthy scepticism and prioritise independent, peer-reviewed research to form an unbiased understanding of PEMF therapy's principles and benefits.

BEST CELLF mats are rigorously tested using frequency and Gauss meters to ensure precise therapeutic signals within the optimal range. Our technology reflects a commitment to providing reliable, effective and accessible therapy, comparable to high-cost low frequency range PEMF devices. While competitors may focus on superficial differences, we prioritise scientifically sound, user-friendly solutions for your wellness journey.

In addition to offering single-frequency programs ranging 1-99Hz, BEST CELLF mats include 14 pre-programmed sessions that use varying frequencies during the session. This is based on the principles of neuro-accommodation and habituation in PEMF therapy. By continuously adjusting the frequency throughout a program, the body is less likely to adapt to the signal, ensuring sustained therapeutic benefits without diminishing effects. Furthermore, BEST CELLF mats deliver an intensity of 50–100 Gauss, which aligns with intensities commonly studied for effective low-frequency PEMF therapy. This range, combined with carefully modulated frequencies, ensures impactful therapy for circulation, inflammation reduction and tissue repair. Our mats are engineered to modulate Gauss output deliberately during sessions. This modulation helps prevent neuro-accommodation, ensuring continued therapeutic benefits over time.

BEST CELLF is committed to making advanced wellness technology accessible without compromising on quality. Our mats are built to last indefinitely with proper care, offering you long-term value and consistent therapeutic benefits. By streamlining manufacturing and avoiding excessive markups, we deliver high-performance PEMF therapy devices at an affordable price, ensuring more people can benefit without paying exorbitant costs.

The geographic origin of a PEMF mat does not determine its quality or effectiveness. PEMF therapy efficacy relies entirely on precise engineering and calibration, not location. Our mats are proudly made in China under ethical practices, crafted by our experienced engineers on a slow production line to ensure exceptional standards of performance.

China is one of the largest exporters of medical devices, demonstrating its capability to supply high-end, technologically advanced devices used in hospitals and healthcare facilities worldwide. China is also the global leader in manufacturing in general, particularly for electronics, with an unparalleled ability to produce high-quality products at scale. From smartphones to appliances and medical devices, many items in most households and hospitals are expertly made in China.

What is PEMF therapy?

The human body comprises trillions of cells, each essential for communication and executing numerous metabolic processes concurrently. The vitality of our cellular energy hinges upon the strength of electrical fields and the chemical composition within our cells. When these components diminish, cellular functionality falters, rendering them unable to perform effectively. Moreover, diminished cellular energy renders cells more vulnerable to diseases.

PEMF therapy enhances cellular energy by reinvigorating cells and facilitating their normal functioning. By modulating the bio-magnetic state of cells, PEMF induces them to generate their own electrical pulses. This promotes enhanced circulation, optimising blood flow to distribute essential nutrients, hormones and oxygen throughout the body while boosting ATP (energy) production. These mechanisms trigger a cascade of beneficial effects on overall well-being.

How is PEMF therapy different from harmful EMFs?

High-frequency EMFs, such as those emitted by electronic devices, can be disruptive to the body because they have the potential to ionise cellular atoms, which can alter DNA and cause other cellular damage. These types of EMFs are often referred to as "bad EMFs" due to their potential negative health effects.

In contrast, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy uses low-frequency EMFs that are more in harmony with the natural frequencies found in nature, like those generated by thunderstorms or the Earth’s own magnetic field. These low-frequency PEMFs do not ionise or charge atoms in the body and are generally considered safe because they mimic the natural electromagnetic environment that our bodies are accustomed to.

Additionally, PEMF therapy delivers these low-frequency signals in short, controlled pulses, which allows the body to absorb the beneficial energy without any risk of overstimulation or negative impact. Because of these factors, PEMF therapy is widely regarded as a safe and beneficial treatment modality.

What is the difference between far-infrared and near-infrared?

Near-infrared (NIR) and far-infrared (FIR) therapies both use infrared light to deliver health benefits, but they differ in wavelength, penetration depth, and therapeutic effects.

Wavelength and Penetration: NIR has shorter wavelengths (700–900 nm) that allow it to penetrate deeper into tissues, reaching several centimetres beneath the skin. This makes it effective for promoting cellular repair, reducing inflammation and improving tissue recovery. FIR has longer wavelengths (3000–100,000 nm) that are absorbed by water molecules in the body. This limits its penetration to a few millimetres to 1 cm, focusing its effects on the skin and upper tissue layers.

Therapeutic Effects: NIR is ideal for deeper treatments, targeting muscles, joints and bones. It is widely used for wound healing, pain relief, and boosting cellular energy. FIR produces a warming effect and is best known for improving circulation, promoting detoxification, and relaxation. FIR is commonly used in saunas to stimulate sweating and enhance overall well-being.

Heat Production: While both NIR and FIR can generate heat, FIR is more noticeable for its thermal effects due to its absorption by water molecules in the skin. NIR, in contrast, delivers therapeutic benefits without producing a significant heating sensation.

Both forms of infrared therapy are scientifically supported and provide unique benefits. The choice between NIR and FIR depends on the specific health goals, whether targeting deeper tissues with NIR or using FIR for its thermal and circulatory effects.

We use far-infrared therapy in our Infrared PEMF Mat and use near-infrared therapy in our Infrared Red Light Wrap and Glove. The Infrared temperature in our mats ranges 30℃-70℃. When using the heat settings for the first time, ease into it by setting the mat to a low temperature and gradually increasing it to a temperature that suits you personally.

What is red light therapy?

Red light therapy works by stimulating the mitochondria within cells, boosting energy production and accelerating tissue repair. This process enhances cellular function and promotes healing by increasing the production of ATP, the cell’s main energy source.

Specifically, red light at a wavelength of 660nm penetrates the skin to a depth that is optimal for promoting collagen production and reducing inflammation.

To maximise the benefits of red light therapy, it’s optimal to expose as much bare skin as possible or wear light, breathable clothing. This allows the light to penetrate more effectively, ensuring deeper absorption and more significant therapeutic effects.

Red light therapy at 660nm is particularly effective in improving skin health, reducing inflammation, and alleviating pain.

Is the Infrared PEMF mat suitable and safe for me to use?

PEMF is safe for most people to use. However, because the pulsed electromagnetic field passes through the body, do not use this product if you have any implanted electronic devices (e.g., pacemakers, defibrillators or insulin supply systems) or have epilepsy.

There are limited studies on PEMF and pregnancy, so we do not recommend using the product if you are pregnant. If you are not sure if you are suitable to use the mat, speak to your health specialist.

What is acupressure mat therapy and how does it work?

Acupressure mat therapy is a form of self-administered body treatment that uses a mat embedded with small plastic pressure points to stimulate the body's pressure points, similar to traditional acupuncture. By lying on the mat, these pressure points help promote circulation, release tension and reduce stress by encouraging the body's natural healing processes. Acupressure mat therapy can also boost energy levels and aid relaxation by targeting specific pressure points related to muscle tension, pain relief and overall wellness.

Is the Infrared PEMF mat comfortable?

The top layer of the Infrared PEMF mat contains thousands of tiny natural crystals covered by mesh. The mat is firm, but softens considerably over time with use.

You can lay a soft blanket or mattress topper over our mats if desired, as this doesn't interfere with the PEMF or infrared heat. Placing a towel over the mat can also help mitigate perspiration residue on the mat.
